Southern Gaderan School 24 April 2019
The Southern Gaderan School was founded about 15 years ago in the village of Gaderan, about 35 km west of Raqqa city, and residents say that their village is named after the large earthen masses formed after the cultivation of their land. The school has 242 students from the first stage.
“Me and my School” project targeted Southern Gaderan school after surveying the devastation caused by the war, as its classrooms were partially destroyed and its benches and blackboards were destroyed, as well as partial destruction in the school wall, damage to the toilet and the crash of doors and windows, which were closed during the control of ISIS, which negatively affected the proper functioning of the educational process and created a non-stimulating environment for education.
The project of “Me and my School” provided 15 benches to replace the shattered ones in the classrooms, the teacher’s chair and desk were replaced and the blackboard was maintained and a stationery and chalk set was provided, and the school was equipped with a children’s entertainment set, a billboard and a cleaning kit, as well as 2 trash basket and 2 garbage cans.
Me and my school project opened Southern Gaderan school on 24 April 2019 after amendments were made and awareness brochures were distributed to encourage students engage in the educational process effectively.
In order to communicate effectively with the beneficiaries of the project, the team of “Me and My School” project met the parents of the students and teachers of Al-Sbahyiah Al-Gharbiyah school who stressed their urgent need to remove the rubble from the school yard and to build their walls and rehabilitate their toilets, in addition to the need for more educational means.
