Distribution of School Bags and Tools at Ghouta School

The Ghouta School was founded in 1983 in the village of Kasret Afnan, which is called Ghouta because of its abundance of trees and green spaces. The village is located in the southeastern countryside, 7 km from the center of Raqqa city, where the school had about 1,600 students from all stages, but their numbers have steadily declined since the outbreak of the war in Syria to nearly 800 students this year.

The project of “Me and My School 2” targeted Ghouta school in the campaign of distributing bags and school tools in order to reduce the expenses of education that may burden the parents of students, as well as in order to encourage children to return to their schools after their suspension  from schools as a result of displacement during ISIS control of the area, and the project team On September 17, 2019, the project distributed 430 bags to students in their classrooms after having some sweets together with the students.
