New trainees of (Bazaar 3) project join local labor market in Raqqa
More trainees of (Bazaar 3) project were able to obtain new job opportunities, despite the continuation of the vocational training program that was started on January 9.
Bashar Faisal, 25, one of the gypsum board trainees, has recently joined a private workshop in the field he chose among the three professions that the third phase of the (Bazaar) project specialized in.
Faisal was able to obtain this opportunity after his success in building strong relationships with his colleagues and trainer, the matter helped him enter the local labor market in Raqqa despite the great competition due to the increase in the volume of the urban activity in the city since its liberation in 2017.
He said he got this opportunity after he was able to master the new skills provided by the gypsum board workshop within the third phase of the (Bazaar) project, which specialized in the basics of gypsum board and painting, as well as the methods of painting on the wall.
Faisal joins the new job after the end of the hours allocated for training, to join his former peers who were able to find similar opportunities.
As for Ahmad al-Hammad, 21, who specialized in plumbing, he also continues his work in a private workshop after the end of the vocational training hours within the (Bazaar) project more than a month ago.
Al-Hammad was able to get this opportunity early after the start of the vocational training that helped him master the basics of this profession, especially since he is considered to have previous experience in this field.
He said that his professional development after receiving extensive training within the (Bazaar 3) program helped him maintain his private business throughout this period.
The matter is no different for Ismail al-Ahmad ,36, who joined the home electricity workshop within the third phase of the (Bazaar) project, as he joins his part-time job every day after he and his peers finish the hours allocated for training.
These practical experiences for the trainees of (Bazaar 3) workshops come despite the continuation of the vocational training that began on January 9, and will continue to March 10.
The third phase of the (Bazaar) project was launched after selecting 36 trainees distributed in the home electricity, plumbing and gypsum board workshops, with the aim of helping them secure a new start, reintegrate them into the labor market, and keep pace with their growing needs.
The project comes at a time when Raqqa, since its liberation from ISIS in 2017, has been witnessing remarkable urban activity with the start of reconstruction efforts and the increase in building projects, which led to the emergence of the need for many basic professions such as plumbing, gypsum board, paint, home electricity and others.
This phase includes providing practical and theoretical training sessions in specific professions, in addition to training in professional marketing.
