Distribution of school bags and tools to the students of Al-Rajm Al-Abyad School

The school was founded in 2003 in the village of Al-Rajm al-Abyad in Al-Raqqah countryside, its name refers to the high white-soiled place, which is called in the local dialect “Al-Rajm Al-Abyad”. Al-Rajm Al-Abyad School is a relatively small school, consisting of four classrooms as well as one room for management. The school was transformed into a shelter for displaced people in 2013 and reopened in 2017 to have about 500 students , a clear increase from their pre-war numbers in Syria.

The project of “Me and My School 2” targeted Al-Rajm Al-Abyad School in the campaign of distributing bags and school tools in order to reduce the expenses of education that may burden the parents of students, as well as to encourage children to return to school after a long stop until 2017, and on 23/09/2019 the project staff distributed 312 bags to the students in their classrooms after giving them some candy.

“Me and My School 2” is a project that aims to provide students in 13 schools in Raqqa city and its countryside with school bags and tools to meet their basic educational needs. It is a continuation of the “Me and My School” project launched by GAV Relief and Development on March 20, 2019, and aims to create the right environment for the families and children of Al-Raqqah city and Al-Qahtania area of the province countryside to engage in the educational process in a coordinated and orderly manner, and encourage the return to Their liberated towns and villages are part of the organization’s plan to respond to the needs of the education sector in north-eastern Syria.

The first stage of the project included a service response to 37 schools among the most affected by the war in Raqqa and its countryside by maintaining its boards and providing its classrooms with seats, tables, chairs, stationery, chalk and children’s entertainment groups, as well as providing schools with billboards ,trash cans and garbage containers.
