استعدادات إعادة افتتاح مدرسة المزيونة الابتدائية

The school of Mazyounah is a new school, it was built 10 years ago in the village of Mazyounah which is considered an extension of the village of Al-Khatwniyah about 10 km wet of Raqqa city and it is relatively a small school that has 210 students in the primary level.

The “Me and my School” project targeted the Mazyounah school after the team examined the effects of the war, which made a large percentage of its classrooms benches  and boards unusable, and the school remained closed for several years during the period of ISIS control over the region, which negatively affected the Educational process  and created a non-stimulating environment for teaching.

The project  of “Me and my School” provided 30 benches to replace the shattered ones in the classrooms, the teacher’s chair and desk were replaced and the blackboard was maintained and a stationery and chalk set was provided, and the school was equipped with a children’s entertainment set, a billboard and a cleaning kit, as well as 3 trash basket and 2 garbage cans.

Al-Mazyounah school was the first school which was opened by Me and my school project on 7 April 2019 after amendments were made  and awareness brochures were distributed to encourage students engage in the educational process effectively.

In order to communicate effectively with the beneficiaries of the project, the team of “Me and My School” project  met the parents of the students and teachers of Al-Mazyounah school who stressed their urgent need to remove the rubble from the school yard and to build their walls and rehabilitate its toilets, in addition to the need for more educational means.

“Me and My School” is a project launched by the GAV Relief and Development Organization on 20 March 2019 and aims to create a favorable environment for the residents and children of Raqqa city and the town of al-Qahtaniyah in its countryside to engage in the educational process in a coordinated and orderly manner, and encourage the displaced people to return to their towns and villages , As part of the organization’s plan to respond to the needs of the educational sector in the regions of north-eastern Syria.

“Me and my School” project responds to the service requirements of 37 schools in Raqqa and its countryside among the most affected by the war that destroyed schools and damaged  the classes, walls, benches and other things , hindering the progress of the educational process in its desired form, and prevents children from having access to a suitable and appropriate educational environment after the restoration of security proportionally to the liberated areas.
