Marketing skills provide opportunities for trainees of (Bazar 3) to promote their professional services in Raqqa
Since the beginning of this March, the trainees of the third phase of the (Bazar) project started to recognize the basics and concepts of professional marketing, as part of the vocational training program plan that is approaching to complete.
The trainees of the workshops of (plumbing, home electricity and gypsum board) got acquainted with the concepts and methods of marketing and how to conduct a study of the local market, in an attempt to help them how to market their professional services and know the best methods of promotion to attract customers, thus securing more job opportunities.
Four days before the end of the third phase, the trainees are completely focusing on acquiring all the necessary skills in the field of professional marketing through the marketing consultations sessions that the project provides for the 36 trainees in the three workshops.
Hassan Asa’ad, 35, a trainee of the gypsum board workshop, says that the importance of good marketing in light of the spread of new and many means of communication lies in informing people about what we can do, after many were forced to give up their professions before the liberation of Raqqa from ISIS control.
“Many of our acquaintances and even our relatives do not know that we have returned to practice our professions that we forcibly abandoned, so marketing skills are the cornerstone of providing a new start for all trainees who have started working again,” Asa’ad added.
As for Abdulaziz Faraj, 33, from the plumbing workshop, he says that he did not have much information about good marketing and advertising methods, but he is now able to use various means of communication to advertise and promote his professional services in a manner that may guarantee him continuous job opportunities.
On the other hand, Ismail Hussein, 38, from the home electricity workshop, says that the best thing that can be offered to the trainees after practical training, is to inform them with methods of professional marketing, because this strengthens their relationships and knowledge, providing them with the opportunity to reach the largest possible number of customers.
The trainees of the third phase of the (Bazar) project are preparing to conclude the training in the three professions of (plumbing, home electricity and gypsum board), which began on January 9, with the end of the professional marketing sessions on March 10.
This phase of the project included providing vocational training for 36 trainees distributed in the plumbing, home electricity and gypsum board workshops, to help them secure a new beginning, reintegrate them into the labor market and keep pace with its growing needs.
The project comes at a time when Raqqa, since its liberation from ISIS in 2017, has witnessed remarkable urban activity with the start of reconstruction efforts and the increase in construction projects, which led to the emergence of an urgent need for many workers in basic professions such as plumbing, gypsum board, paint, home electricity and others.
